Amara Karan Biography
Amara Karan, born on June 1, 1984, is an English actress known for her versatile performances in both film and stage. She made her film debut in 2007 as Rita in Wes Anderson's The Darjeeling Limited, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival, and also appeared in St Trinian's as Peaches. Karan showcased her talent on stage in 2008, debuting as Jessica in an RSC production of The Merchant of Venice, and as Bianca in The Taming of the Shrew. She later made her West End debut at the Novello Theatre. In 2016, Karan appeared on the HBO crime drama mini-series, The Night Of. Born to Sri Lankan Tamil parents, she grew up in Wimbledon and attended Wimbledon High School before studying at St Catherine's College, Oxford.
