Jacqueline Brookes Biography
Jacqueline Brookes (July 24, 1930 – April 26, 2013) was an American film, television, and stage actress. She gained recognition for her work off-Broadway and on Broadway. Born in Montclair, New Jersey, to Maria and Frederick Brookes, she attended a French-speaking school in New York and was fluent in French. Brookes graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and later studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London on a Fulbright Scholarship. In the 1960s, she performed in the Shakespeare Festival at the Old Globe Theater in San Diego, showcasing her talent in plays like Antony and Cleopatra, A Winter's Tale, The Merchant of Venice, A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Merry Wives of Windsor, and Richard III.
