Jeannie Berlin (born Jeannie Brette May on November 1, 1949) is an American film, television, and stage actress and screenwriter. She is best known for her role in the 1972 comedy film The Heartbreak Kid, which earned her Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations for Best Supporting Actress. Berlin has appeared in numerous films, including Sheila Levine Is Dead and Living in New York (1975), Margaret (2011), Inherent Vice (2014), Café Society (2016), The Fabelmans (2022), and You Hurt My Feelings (2023). She has also appeared in notable TV series such as HBO's The Night Of (2016), Amazon Prime's Hunters (2020), and HBO's Succession (2019–2023).
