Martin Starr is an American actor known for his roles in various television shows and films. He was born on July 30, 1982. Starr gained recognition for his portrayal of Bill Haverchuck in the comedy drama series Freaks and Geeks (1999–2000). He also appeared as Roman DeBeers in the comedy series Party Down (2009–2010, 2023) and as Bertram Gilfoyle in the HBO series Silicon Valley (2014–2019). Additionally, Starr has appeared in films such as Knocked Up (2007), Adventureland (2009), and various Marvel Cinematic Universe films, including The Incredible Hulk (2008) and Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021). Starr's talents have earned him numerous opportunities, despite experiencing a period of frustration and depression earlier in his career. He is the son of actress Jean St. James and practices Buddhism.
