Michael York Biography
Michael York OBE (born Michael Hugh Johnson; 27 March 1942) is an English actor. He gained recognition for his stage performances with the Royal National Theatre before making his breakthrough in films as Tybalt in Franco Zeffirelli's Romeo and Juliet (1968). Known for his blond, blue-eyed appearance and upper-class demeanor, York played leading roles in prominent British and Hollywood films of the 1970s. Notable roles include Konrad Ludwig in Something for Everyone (1970), Brian Roberts in Cabaret (1972), D'Artagnan in The Three Musketeers (1973), and Basil Exposition in the Austin Powers film series (1997–2002). York has received two Emmy Award nominations in his career.
