Amy Irving Biography
Amy Irving is an American actress and singer, known for her work in film, stage, and television. Born on September 10, 1953, in Palo Alto, California, she is the daughter of actors Jules Irving and Priscilla Pointer. Irving started her acting career at a young age, making her Broadway debut in The Country Wife at the age of 13. She went on to study theater at the American Conservatory Theater and the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. Irving gained recognition for her roles in films such as Carrie (1976) and The Fury (1978). She also appeared in the Broadway production of Amadeus and the film Honeysuckle Rose (1980). Irving received accolades including an Obie Award and nominations for two Golden Globe Awards and an Academy Award.
