Arthur Hills
Arthur Hills (1930 – May 18, 2021) was an American golf course designer known for his extensive work in designing more than 200 golf courses worldwide. He specialized in designing private, resort, upscale, and public golf courses. Hills was also recognized for his expertise in renovating or modifying over 120 courses, including prestigious clubs in preparation for major USGA and PGA Championships. He earned a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture (Agronomy) from Michigan State University in 1953 and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Michigan. Hills began his career in 1967 with the design of Brandywine Country Club in Toledo, Ohio. He aimed to create playable courses for golfers of all skill levels. Hills' notable projects also included golf courses in Portugal, Croatia, and Sweden.
