David Ackroyd (born May 30, 1940) is an American actor. He first gained recognition in soap operas such as The Secret Storm and Another World. Born in East Orange, New Jersey, Ackroyd relocated to Wayne, New Jersey at the age of 12. In the early 1970s, he transitioned to film and television, starring in daytime dramas before moving on to shows like Dallas and Knots Landing. Ackroyd also appeared in miniseries such as The Dark Secret of Harvest Home, The Word, and TV movies like And I Alone Survived and Exo-Man. He had supporting roles in The Mountain Men, Dark Angel, and Xena: Warrior Princess.
