David Kinch
David Kinch (born April 4, 1961) is an American chef and restaurateur known for his California cuisine with French, Catalan, and Japanese influences. He owned and operated the award-winning restaurant Manresa in Los Gatos, California, which received three Michelin stars in 2016. Kinch's culinary achievements include being named one of the World's 50 Best Restaurants by Restaurant Magazine and receiving four stars from the San Francisco Chronicle. He also opened a second restaurant called The Bywater in Los Gatos. Kinch is the dean at the International Culinary Center, formerly known as the French Culinary Institute, and has been recognized with the Best Chef in America award for the Pacific region from the James Beard Foundation and GQ's Chef of the Year for 2011. He started his career at the Hotel Parker Meridian in New York City and has a degree from Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island.
