David Ryall Biography
David John Ryall (5 January 1935 – 25 December 2014) was an English actor known for his work in stage, film, and television. He had leading roles in the TV series Lytton's Diary and Goodnight Sweetheart, as well as memorable appearances in Dennis Potter's The Singing Detective and Andrew Davies's adaptation of To Play the King. Ryall also portrayed Billy Buzzle in the sitcom Bless Me, Father and Frank in the sitcom Outnumbered. Born in Shoreham-by-Sea, Sussex, Ryall attended Shoreham and Wallington grammar schools before receiving a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. He began his career in repertory theater and later joined Laurence Olivier's company at the National Theatre. Ryall's contributions to the arts included numerous influential plays and performances.
