David John Tennant (né McDonald; born 18 April 1971) is a Scottish actor known for his versatile roles in film and television. He gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of the tenth incarnation of the Doctor in the popular sci-fi series Doctor Who (2005–2010; 2013). Tennant has also showcased his talent in various other notable roles, such as Giacomo Casanova in the comedy-drama serial Casanova (2005), Barty Crouch Jr. in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005), and Peter Vincent in Fright Night (2011). His performances in crime drama series Broadchurch (2013–2017) as DI Alec Hardy and as Kilgrave in Jessica Jones (2015–2019) further established his acting prowess. Tennant's recent projects include portraying Crowley in the fantasy series Good Omens (2019–present), Angus in The Loud House Movie (2021), and Phileas Fogg in Around the World in 80 Days (2021).
