Doon Mackichan (born 1962) is a British actress, comedian, and writer. She is best known for co-creating, writing, and performing in the double-Emmy-award-winning comedy sketch show Smack the Pony. Mackichan has collaborated frequently with Armando Iannucci and Steve Coogan, appearing in various projects such as The Day Today, Brass Eye, Alan Partridge, Toast of London, and Two Doors Down. In 2014, she was nominated for Best Female Comedy Performance at the British Academy Television Awards for her role in Plebs. Mackichan received critical acclaim for her performance alongside John Malkovich in the 2019 play Bitter Wheat. Born in London and raised in Fife, she studied drama at Manchester University.
