Elizabeth Lyon Beisel (born August 18, 1992) is an American competition swimmer known for her expertise in backstroke and individual medley events. She has represented the United States in multiple Olympic Games, earning a total of nine medals in major international competitions. Beisel won four gold, one silver, and four bronze medals throughout her career, with notable achievements including a silver medal in the 400-meter individual medley and a bronze medal in the 200-meter backstroke at the 2012 Summer Olympics. In addition to her swimming accomplishments, Beisel made history on September 25, 2021, by becoming the first woman to swim to Block Island. She also serves as a swimming ambassador for SPIRE Institute and Academy since August 2020.
