Born on August 19, 1947, in Collins, Mississippi, McRaney is best known for his roles in popular television shows such as Simon & Simon, Major Dad, Promised Land, House of Cards, and NCIS: Los Angeles. He has also appeared in the first season of Jericho and the final season of Deadwood. McRaney has had recurring roles in shows like Castle, Longmire, and This Is Us, for which he won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series. Before his acting career, McRaney worked in the Louisiana oil fields. He has Scottish and Choctaw ancestry and attended the University of Mississippi.
