Gio Benitez

Gio Benitez is an American broadcast journalist and correspondent for ABC News. Born on October 29, 1985 in Miami, Florida, Benitez comes from a Cuban immigrant family. He graduated from Miami Coral Park High School in 2004 and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in anthropology and sociology from Florida International University in 2008. Benitez is a bilingual speaker of English and Spanish. He has achieved significant recognition in his career and has won three television news Emmy awards. Benitez appears on various ABC News programs including Good Morning America, World News Tonight, 20/20, and Nightline. He also hosts the Fusion collaboration version of Nightline. In addition, Benitez serves as the Transportation Correspondent for ABC News, operating from New York and DC.
