Glynis Johns is a British retired actress, dancer, musician, and singer, born on October 5, 1923, in Pretoria, South Africa. With a career spanning eight decades, she appeared in over 60 films and 30 plays. Johns received numerous accolades, including a Tony Award, a Drama Desk Award, a National Board of Review Award, and a Laurel Award. She was also nominated for an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award, and a Laurence Olivier Award. Known for her performances in the Golden Age of Hollywood and classical years of British cinema, Johns made her screen debut in 'South Riding' (1938) and rose to prominence with her role as Anna in '49th Parallel' (1941).
