Heathcote Williams Biography
Heathcote Williams (15 November 1941 – 1 July 2017) was an English poet, actor, political activist, and dramatist. Known for his book-length polemical poems such as Autogeddon, Falling for a Dolphin, and Whale Nation, Williams was a prominent figure in environmental and political activism. He popularized the genre of documentary/investigative poetry, bringing attention to various environmental and political issues. His last published work, American Porn, critiqued the American political establishment and the election of President Donald Trump. Additionally, Williams wrote a book-length investigative poem about Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan, known as the 'Muslim Gandhi.' Alongside his writing, Williams had appearances in several plays and films.
