Hugh Futcher Biography
Hugh Futcher (born 29 October 1937) is an English actor known for his work in theatre, television, and film. He became well-known as a member of the stock company of the Carry On films, appearing in notable roles such as Carry On Spying, Carry On at Your Convenience, and Carry On Behind. Futcher also appeared in Roman Polanski's Repulsion and the Herman's Hermits musical Mrs. Brown, You've Got a Lovely Daughter. On television, he had a recurring role in the adventure series Orlando as 'Hedgehog' and made appearances on popular shows like The Saint, Z-Cars, The Sweeney, Minder, and Casualty. Futcher was considered for the role of the Seventh Doctor in Doctor Who but declined due to other commitments. He continues to be active in the industry.
