Karl Malone Biography
Karl Malone, born on July 24, 1963, is a retired American professional basketball player who had an illustrious career in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Known as 'the Mailman', Malone is widely regarded as one of the greatest power forwards in NBA history. He played for the Utah Jazz for 18 seasons, from 1985 to 2003, and formed a formidable partnership with teammate John Stockton. Throughout his career, Malone achieved numerous accolades, including two NBA Most Valuable Player awards, 14 NBA All-Star selections, and 11 All-NBA First Team honors. With 36,928 career points, he is ranked third all-time in NBA scoring behind LeBron James and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Malone also holds records for the most free throws made and attempted, and the most regular season games started. Prior to his NBA career, Malone played college basketball for Louisiana Tech University, where he helped lead the team to its first-ever NCAA tournament appearance.
