He gained recognition for his role as Fillmore in the Cars franchise, taking over the role from George Carlin since 2008. Sherr is also known for his narration of the History Channel series Modern Marvels and other shows like Command Decisions, Engineering Disasters, and Dogfights. He has lent his voice to various video games, including God of War II, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Gothic 3, and EverQuest II. Sherr's notable on-screen appearance was as The Moper in the 1984 film Revenge of the Nerds.
