Luke Askew Biography
Luke Askew (March 26, 1932 – March 29, 2012) was an American actor known for his appearances in westerns. He gained recognition for his role in the spaghetti Western Night of the Serpent (1969), where he had a lead role. Askew also had a small but significant part in the iconic film Easy Rider (1969). Born in Macon, Georgia, Askew attended the University of Georgia, Mercer University, and Walter F. George School of Law. Prior to his acting career, he worked in radio and television and was a rock and blues singer. Askew served in the United States Air Force during his college years. He continued to act in various films and television shows throughout his career.
