Mara Elizabeth Wilson (born July 24, 1987) is an American actress and writer. She gained fame as a child actor with notable roles in films such as Mrs. Doubtfire (1993), Miracle on 34th Street (1994), Matilda (1996), A Simple Wish (1997), and Thomas and the Magic Railroad (2000). After a 12-year hiatus, Wilson returned to acting in 2012 and has since primarily worked in web series. She was born in Burbank, California, on July 24, 1987, to a Jewish mother and a father of Irish descent. Wilson's mother battled breast cancer and her death greatly impacted Wilson's passion for acting.
