Marcus Chong Biography
Marcus Scott Chong, born on July 8, 1967, is an American actor known for his roles in various movies and TV shows. He portrayed Miguel Mendez in the crime drama series Street Justice (1991–1993) and played the real-life activist Huey P. Newton in the film Panther (1995), directed by Mario Van Peebles. However, Chong is most notably recognized for his portrayal of Tank in the iconic movie The Matrix (1999), directed by The Wachowskis. Born in Seattle to an African-American father and a Chinese mother, Chong began his acting career at the age of nine. He has also appeared in the miniseries Roots: The Next Generations (1979) and made a guest appearance in Little House on the Prairie.
