Michelle Phillips Biography
Michelle Phillips (born June 4, 1944) is an American singer and actress. She gained fame as a vocalist in the musical quartet the Mamas and the Papas in the 1960s. Known for her pure soprano voice, she later ventured into acting in the 1970s, establishing a successful career in film and television. Born Holly Michelle Gilliam in Long Beach, California, she was raised by her widowed father in Los Angeles and Mexico City. Michelle co-founded the Mamas and the Papas with her then-husband John Phillips in 1965, achieving popularity with hits like 'California Dreamin'' and 'Creeque Alley'. She is the last surviving member of the band and has a daughter, Chynna Phillips, with John Phillips.
