She is known for her work as a political commentator, lobbyist, and former Fox News contributor. Crowley served as an online opinion editor for The Washington Times and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. In 2016, she was announced as a deputy national security advisor for the National Security Council under the Donald Trump administration, but withdrew following plagiarism reports. Trump later appointed her as spokesperson for the Treasury Department in 2019.
