Peter S. Kim
Peter S. Kim (born April 27, 1958) is an American scientist and former president of Merck Research Laboratories (MRL). Currently, he holds the position of Virginia & D.K. Ludwig Professor of Biochemistry at Stanford University, where he is also an Institute Scholar at Stanford ChEM-H. Additionally, Kim serves as the Lead Investigator of the Infectious Disease Initiative at the Chan Zuckerberg Biohub. Known for his leadership in the discovery and development of novel drugs and vaccines, Kim was elected a member of the National Academy of Engineering in 2016. He earned his A.B. in chemistry from Cornell University and his Ph.D. in biochemistry from Stanford University.
