Rodney Masao Kageyama (November 1, 1941 – December 9, 2018) was an American stage, film, and TV actor. He was a Nisei Japanese American and played a significant role in the Asian American theater movement. Born in San Mateo, California, Kageyama began his career in San Francisco in 1965 as a founding member of the Asian American Theater Company. He later joined the prestigious East West Players in Los Angeles as an actor, director, and designer. Kageyama's notable roles include appearances in the film 'Gung Ho,' the television series 'Gung Ho,' and the 'Karate Kid' franchise. He was recognized as a trailblazer for Asian Americans in Hollywood.
