Stephen Hartley Dorff Jr. (born July 29, 1973) is an American actor. He started his film career as a child in the cult horror film The Gate (1987). Dorff gained prominence for his role as Stuart Sutcliffe in Backbeat (1994) and as Deacon Frost in Blade (1998). He has also appeared in notable lead roles such as Cecil B. DeMented (2000) and Somewhere (2010). Additional supporting roles include I Shot Andy Warhol (1996), World Trade Center (2006), Public Enemies (2009), Immortals (2011), The Iceman (2012), and Old Henry (2021). He portrayed Roland West in the third season of HBO's True Detective (2019). Dorff was born in Atlanta, Georgia.
