Tim Bentinck Biography
Tim Bentinck, born Timothy Charles Robert Noel Bentinck, is an English actor and writer. He is best known for his long-running role as David Archer in the BBC Radio 4 series, The Archers. Bentinck was a member of the House of Lords from 1997 to 1999 and holds the title of 12th Earl of Portland and Count Bentinck of Waldeck Limpurg in the peerage of the Holy Roman Empire. He was born on a sheep station in Barton, Tasmania, Australia, and later moved to Berkhamsted, England. Bentinck attended Harrow School and the University of East Anglia, where he received a BA degree in the History of Art. He trained in acting at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.
