Ariyan A. Johnson, also known as Ariyan Johnson, is an American actress, television director, dancer, and choreographer. She gained recognition for her portrayal of Chantel Mitchell in the 1992 indie drama film 'Just Another Girl on the I.R.T.' Additionally, Johnson appeared as Aisha in the second season of the comedy series 'The Steve Harvey Show' (1997-98). Born in Brooklyn, New York's Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood, Johnson grew up with artistically inclined parents and received training in dance and film at LaGuardia High School of Performing Arts. She has also studied at renowned institutions such as Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Martha Graham Center of Contemporary Dance, and 92nd St. Y Harkness Dance Center. Johnson was nominated for the Independent Spirit Award for Best Female Lead in 1994 for her role in 'Just Another Girl on the I.R.T.'
