Celia Rose Gooding is an American actor and singer known for their role as Mary Frances 'Frankie' Healy in the Broadway musical Jagged Little Pill, where they won a Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album in 2021 and received a Tony Award nomination for Best Actress in a Featured Role in a Musical in 2020. They also portray Nyota Uhura in the Paramount+ series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. Gooding was born on February 22, 2000, in New York, New York, and was raised by their mother, LaChanze, a renowned actress, singer, and dancer. They attended the Hackley School, graduating with honors in performing arts. Gooding's father, Calvin Gooding, tragically died in the September 11 attacks. They have one sister named Zaya.
