Dave Mustaine

Dave Mustaine, born David Scott Mustaine on September 13, 1961, is an American musician known for his role as the co-founder, frontman, primary songwriter, and sole consistent member of the thrash metal band Megadeth. With Megadeth, Mustaine has released sixteen studio albums, selling over 38 million records worldwide. He has achieved six platinum certifications and won a Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance in 2017. Before forming Megadeth, Mustaine was the original lead guitarist of Metallica, credited on several songs. Born into a Jehovah's Witnesses family, Mustaine now identifies as a born-again Christian. Throughout his life, he has battled alcohol and drug problems, seeking rehab, and also overcoming throat cancer in 2019. Mustaine has been married to Pamela Anne Casselberry since 1991 and they have two children.
