Dileep A. Rao is an American actor known for his roles in feature films and television series. He was born on July 29, 1973, in Los Angeles, California. Rao has appeared in notable movies such as Sam Raimi's horror film Drag Me to Hell (2009), James Cameron's Avatar series (2009–present), and Christopher Nolan's thriller Inception (2010). Growing up in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia, Denver, Colorado, and Claremont, California, Rao comes from a family of Indian descent with a physicist mother and an engineer father. He graduated from Claremont High School, the University of California, San Diego, and holds an M.F.A. from the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco.
