Jane Sperry Connell (pronounced con-NELL, née Bennett; October 27, 1925 – September 22, 2013) was an American actress and singer. Born in Berkeley, California, Connell began her career with her husband Gordon, entertaining in San Francisco night clubs. She made her Off-Broadway debut in the 1955 revival of The Threepenny Opera and went on to star in the London production of Once Upon a Mattress. Connell's most notable role came in 1966 when she portrayed Agnes Gooch in the original Broadway production of Jerry Herman's Mame. She appeared in numerous Broadway productions and had roles in television shows such as 'Person TV Show' and 'Person Movies and TV Shows'.
