Janet Waldo (born Jeanette Marie Waldo on February 4, 1920, in Yakima, Washington) was an American radio and voice actress. She is best known for her voice work in animation, including voicing Judy Jetson in various Hanna-Barbera media, Nancy in Shazzan, Penelope Pitstop, Princess from Battle of the Planets, and Josie in Josie and the Pussycats. Waldo also portrayed the title character in the radio show Meet Corliss Archer. Her mother, Jane Althea Blodgett, was a singer, and her father, Benjamin Franklin Waldo, was a distant cousin of Ralph Waldo Emerson. Waldo attended the University of Washington and gained recognition for her performance in a student theatrical production. She passed away on June 12, 2016.
