Marc Singer Biography
Marc Singer is a Canadian-born American actor known for his roles in the Beastmaster film series, as Mike Donovan in the original 1980s TV series V, and as Matt Cantrell in Dallas. Born on January 29, 1948, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Singer was raised in Corpus Christi, Texas. He comes from a family of musicians, with his father being a symphony conductor and his mother a concert pianist. Singer has two brothers and one sister, who is also an actress and cellist. Before his breakthrough, he appeared in the sequel to the miniseries Roots and had a small role in the Planet of the Apes TV series. Singer gained fame in the early '80s for his portrayal of Dar in The Beastmaster and its sequels.
