Marie Avgeropoulos

Marie Avgeropoulos, born on June 17, 1986, is a Canadian actress and model. She rose to fame for her role as Octavia Blake in the post-apocalyptic sci-fi TV series, The 100, which aired from 2014 to 2020 on The CW. Avgeropoulos was born in Thunder Bay, Ontario to Greek parents and grew up engaging in outdoor activities such as fishing, hunting, and camping. She developed a passion for drumming at the age of 16. After studying broadcast journalism for two years, she moved to Europe briefly before settling in Vancouver, Canada. Avgeropoulos underwent surgery at the age of 20 to remove a tumor from her chest and throat, which affected her voice. Her acting career began when she attended a casting call in Vancouver and was discovered by a talent agent, leading to various national commercial appearances.
