Mike O'Malley Biography
Mike O'Malley is an American actor, writer, and television producer. He was born on October 31, 1966, in Boston and raised in New Hampshire. O'Malley gained recognition as the host of the children's game show Nickelodeon Guts in the early 1990s. He later moved to Los Angeles and starred in his own sitcom on NBC called The Mike O'Malley Show. However, he is best known for his role as Jimmy Hughes on the CBS series Yes, Dear, which aired from 2000 to 2006. O'Malley received an Emmy Award nomination for his role as Burt Hummel on the Fox series Glee. He has also made guest appearances on popular TV shows like My Name Is Earl, Raising Hope, Parenthood, and Parks and Recreation. Additionally, O'Malley has appeared in movies including 28 Days, Deep Impact, Leatherheads, Eat, Pray, Love, R.I.P.D., Concussion, and Sully. He is also a published playwright, with works like Three Years From Thirty and Diverting Devotion. O'Malley adapted the play Searching for Certainty for the film Certainty, directed by Peter Askin and premiered at the Boston Film Festival.
