Peter Henry Fonda (February 23, 1940 – August 16, 2019) was an American actor known for his work in movies and television shows. He was born on February 23, 1940, in New York City to renowned actor Henry Fonda and socialite Frances Ford Seymour. Fonda was the younger brother of actress Jane Fonda and the father of actress Bridget Fonda. He gained prominence as a prominent figure in the counterculture of the 1960s. Fonda received critical acclaim and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for Easy Rider (1969) and Best Actor for Ulee's Gold (1997). He won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture Drama for Ulee's Gold and for Best Supporting Actor in a Series, Miniseries, or Television Film for The Passion of Ayn Rand (1999).
