Ron Lester (August 4, 1970 – June 17, 2016) was an American actor best known for his roles in films such as Varsity Blues, Not Another Teen Movie, Good Burger, and the television series Popular. Born in Kennesaw, Georgia, Lester began his acting career as an extra in a commercial, which led to more significant roles. He appeared in a music video for the band Little Texas before moving to Los Angeles to pursue his career. Lester's breakthrough came with his role as Billy Bob in the film Varsity Blues in 1999, and he also had recurring roles on Freaks and Geeks and Popular. Additionally, he appeared in Not Another Teen Movie, parodying his previous role. Throughout his life, Lester struggled with obesity, and in 2000, he underwent a gastric bypass surgery in an attempt to improve his health.
