Tom Smothers Biography
Tom Smothers, born Thomas Bolyn Smothers III on February 2, 1937, is an American comedian, composer, and musician. He is best known as one half of the musical comedy duo, the Smothers Brothers, alongside his younger brother Dick. Smothers was born in New York City and later moved to California, where he attended Redondo Union High School and San José State University. Before entering the world of comedy, Smothers excelled as a competitive unicyclist and state champion gymnast. The Smothers Brothers initially aimed to be folk musicians, but Tom's comedic talent led them towards comedy. Together, they gained fame and success through their humorous performances.
