Tone Loc, born Anthony Terrell Smith on March 3, 1966, is an American rapper. Known for his raspy voice, he gained popularity with his hit songs 'Wild Thing' and 'Funky Cold Medina', which earned him a Grammy Award nomination. Tone Loc was also featured in 'We're All in the Same Gang', a collaborative single by the West Coast Rap All-Stars. Raised by his mother in Los Angeles, he attended the Hollywood Professional School and began his musical career as a teenager, performing with the rap group Triple A. His debut album, 'Lōc-ed After Dark', was released in 1989 and achieved success with multiple chart-topping singles.
