Cast of The Leftovers

Justin Theroux portrays Kevin Garvey, the main protagonist of the series. Kevin is a police chief who struggles to maintain order and sanity in the wake of a global event called the Sudden Departure.

Amy Brenneman plays the role of Laurie Garvey, Kevin's estranged wife. Laurie joins a cult known as the Guilty Remnant, which believes that the Sudden Departure was the Rapture, causing her to abandon her family.

Christopher Eccleston portrays Matt Jamison, a former reverend and brother-in-law of Kevin Garvey. Matt staunchly denies the religious nature of the Departure and becomes obsessed with uncovering the truth behind the event.

Margaret Qualley plays Jill Garvey, Kevin and Laurie's daughter. Jill struggles with her parents' separation and the emotional aftermath of the Departure. She becomes disillusioned and rebellious as the series progresses.

Chris Zylka portrays Tom Garvey, Kevin and Laurie's son. Tom becomes involved with a mysterious cult known as the Holy Wayne Hug, which claims to have the ability to heal people's pain and suffering.

Carrie Coon plays the role of Nora Durst, a woman who lost her entire family in the Departure. Nora is haunted by grief and becomes an important character in the series as she navigates her own pain and loss.

Scott Glenn portrays Kevin Garvey, Sr., Kevin's father. Kevin Sr. struggles with his own demons and delusions, often speaking with voices and seeing visions that only he can hear and see.

Regina King plays Erika Murphy, a doctor and Erika Murphy, a doctor and Michael's wife. She is a strong-willed and complex character who deals with her own personal struggles and the aftermath of the Departure.
