Abe Mitchell
Henry Abraham Mitchell (18 January 1887 – 11 June 1947) was an English professional golfer. Mitchell had eight top-10 finishes out of 17 appearances in the Open Championship, with his best performance being fourth in 1920. He was also the runner-up in the 1912 Amateur Championship and won the 1924 Miami Open. Born in East Grinstead, Sussex, Mitchell began as an amateur and played for England against the Scots in 1910, winning the match. He turned professional in late 1913 and went on to win numerous golf tournaments in Great Britain, as well as tour the United States regularly. Mitchell's half-brother, Mark Seymour, also became a successful professional golfer.
