Adam Nelson Biography
Adam McCright Nelson (born July 7, 1975) is an American shot putter and Olympic gold medalist. He competed in the shot put event at three consecutive Olympic Games in 2000, 2004, and 2008, winning a gold medal in 2004 and a silver medal in 2000. Nelson was born in Atlanta, Georgia, and attended The Lovett School where he excelled in football and track and field. He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1997, where he set the school's shot put record with a throw of 65 ft. Nelson is married to Laci Nelson and has two daughters, Caroline and Lauren Nelson.
