Adam Shankman Biography
Adam Shankman (born November 27, 1964) is an American film director, producer, writer, dancer, author, actor, and choreographer. Known for his work in musical theater, Shankman began his career as a dancer in music videos for Paula Abdul and Janet Jackson. He has choreographed numerous films and has directed several feature-length films, including A Walk to Remember, Bringing Down the House, The Pacifier, and the musicals Hairspray and Disenchanted. Shankman was a permanent judge on seasons 6-7 of So You Think You Can Dance. He is also a co-owner of Offspring Entertainment, a production company that produces films and television. Currently, Shankman is co-writing young adult novels for Simon & Schuster imprint Atheneum Books for Young Readers.
