Alan David Gill is an English guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter known for his contributions to the synthpop band Dalek I Love You and the post-punk/neo-psychedelic band the Teardrop Explodes. Born and raised in Thingwall, Wirral, Gill co-founded the band Mr. McKenzie, which later changed its name to Radio Blank. However, Gill's musical interests shifted towards a more experimental direction, leading him to form Dalek I Love You with David Balfe, David Hughes, and Chris Teepee. Gill also played lead guitar and co-wrote songs for the influential band Teardrop Explodes. With a career spanning from the punk rock era to the synthpop and post-punk movements, Gill has made a significant impact on the music industry.
