Alex Bulmer
Alex Bulmer is a Canadian playwright, theatre artist, and actor. She is known for co-founding the theatre companies SNIFF Inc. and Invisible Flash. Bulmer wrote the play Smudge and was a writer for the 2009 Channel 4 series Cast Offs. Born in Kitchener, Ontario, Bulmer grew up in Puslinch. She attended Bishops University and studied theatre at the Ryerson Polytechnical Institute's Theatre School, where she began losing her vision. Bulmer then studied voice at the Central School of Speech and Drama in London, England. Bulmer has also performed drag as Alvin Calvin Cumberbund and taught theatre at Ryerson University and George Brown College. She founded SNIFF Inc., a theatre company focused on challenging conventional uses of sensory perception in theatre.
