Alex Guarnaschelli

Alexandra Maria Guarnaschelli is an American chef, cookbook author, and television personality. Born on June 20, 1969, she currently serves as an executive chef at New York City's Butter restaurant and was previously the executive chef at The Darby. Guarnaschelli has studied cooking extensively in France. As a television personality, she has appeared on several Food Network shows including The Kitchen, Chopped (as a judge), Iron Chef America, All Star Family Cook-off, Guy's Grocery Games (as both a judge and a competitor), and The Best Thing I Ever Ate. She also hosts Alex's Day Off, The Cooking Loft, Supermarket Stakeout, and her newest show, Alex vs. America. In 2012, Guarnaschelli won The Next Iron Chef: Redemption. She has published a cookbook titled Old-School Comfort Food: The Way I Learned to Cook, which combines autobiographical details with her favorite recipes adapted for the home.
