Alex Long (born 1970) is a British philosopher and professor of philosophy at the University of St Andrews. He is known for his works on the ancient Greek philosophy. Long is a co-editor of the journal Phronesis. He has authored and edited several books, including 'Immortality in Ancient Philosophy' (2021), 'Death and Immortality in Ancient Philosophy' (2019), 'Plato and the Stoics' (2013), 'Conversation and Self-Sufficiency in Plato' (2013), and 'Plato: Meno and Phaedo' (2010). With a focus on the works of Plato and the Stoics, Long's contributions have made significant contributions to the field of ancient philosophy.
